Forks, Wash., will soon have a Gold Star Family Memorial

Wednesday, May 8, 2019, was more than just the anniversary of V-E Day for military veterans and their families. It was also the day that members of Forks American Legion Post 106 stopped by Fletcher Wittenborn Post 9106 of the VFW.
On March 9, the American Legion post held a breakfast to help support and raise funds for the soon-to-be-built Gold Star Memorial that is being sponsored by the members of the VFW post. This memorial honors families who have lost loved ones in service to our country. The members of the Legion post were happy to be able to support this project.
At the monthly VFW meeting, Commander Phil Arbeiter and Adjutant Clint Wood of Post 106 presented Commander Tom Hughes and Adjutant Dave Williams with a check for $600 to help with the memorial project, while other Legion and VFW members looked on.
Post 106 members were proud to be part of this great project and look forward to its completion.
