This memorial is dedicated to all who gave their lives in service to their country from Mecklenburg County, Va., from the Revolutionary War to the War on Terrorism. The monument contains the names of 578 citizens who made the ultimate sacrifice. It is open year-round and is located in downtown Clarksville, Va., at the intersections of Highways 15, 49 and 59 Business. Memorial brick pavers also surround the monument in honor or memory of any veteran who served honorably in military service. Services are held each Memorial Day and Veterans Day. These services are supported by American Legion Post 45 and VFW Post 8163, both of Clarksville.
