American Legion Marlin Moore Post 133, along with the mayor and a council member, proclaimed the Village of Palmetto Bay a Purple Heart City today, Aug. 7, 2016, Purple Heart Day. The ceremony took place at Post 133. This is the first city in Miami-Dade County, Fla., to receive this proclamation. U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinan and her husband Dexter, a Purple Heart recipient as well, were on hand.
