Esphorst Family Military History

My great-great-grandfather, Caspar Esphorst, served in the Enrolled Missouri Militia for the Union Army in the Civil War.

My grandfather, George H. Esphorst, served with the 35th Division, 1st Infantry, Company D of the U.S. Army during World War I and participated in the Argonne Forest battle.

My father, George W. Esphorst, served in the 2nd Marine Division during World War II and was wounded during the landing on Saipan.

My older brother, Eric G. Esphorst, also served in the Marine Corps during Vietnam in the 3rd Division and was wounded during the siege of Khe Sanh.

I (Randy Esphorst) also served in Vietnam with the U.S. Air Force, 7th Air Force, 1964th Communications Group at Tan Son Nhut Air Base in Saigon.

I am extremely proud of my family's history serving this great country of ours. May God bless America. I am a member of American Legion Post 541 in Bay, Mo.
