One family's service spans almost a century

The Schwaderer family has served in the U.S. military since World War I. These are the veterans in our lineage, to the best of my knowledge. Should I have missed anyone, add them to the list of proud Americans that have served our country.

William Schwaderer, Sr., served in World War I. His unit is unknown.

William Schwaderer, Jr., served in an unknown unit in World War II.

John Schwaderer served in the 106th Infantry Division during WWII.

I served in the 32nd Army Air Defense Command (ADCOM) from 1969-1972. Then I served in the Army Reserves from 1972-1975, the 11th Special Forces Reserve from 1977-1978 and finally the Maryland National Guard from 1985-1986.

I was a member of American Legion Post 191 in Mt. Airy, Md.

Jeremy Schwaderer served aboard the USS Sumpter from 1989-1990 then the USS Saipan until 1993. His grandfather Albert Marks was a WWII veteran.

Marcus Schwaderer served on the USS Albany SSN 753 from 2004-2010. His grandfather Robert Ohrt was also a WWII veteran.
