Highest civilian award presented by the Pembroke Pines Fire Chief

On February 20, 2013, Bruckenthal-Cann Post 385 member Irwin B. Baron was presented with the Phoenix Award, the highest civilian award given by the Pembroke Pines Fire Department. This was presented at the Pembroke Pines February Council Meeting by the PPFD Fire Chief. This award has only been presented five times in the city's history. Post Commander James Tewes, Adjutant Joe Motes and Post Historian Carol Fraser were present for the ceremonies. The person (2nd from left) was the person whose life was saved.

At 84 years old, Irwin Baron has been a Boy Scout for 70 years.
