"Absolutely Abby" on cross-country mission to educate 1 million job seekers

Abby Kohut is on an aggressive path to positively impact the unemployment figures and get Americans back to work.
At a South Jersey Regional Veterans Resource and Opportunity Fair, New Jersey veterans, National Guard and Reserve members, and transitioning active-duty servicemembers received her message, filled with the secrets of corporate recruiters that "never tell you why you don’t get the job.”
It is her purpose to explain to veterans how to be the one to successfully land a career in a growing field of applicants.
Abby believes she has the ammunition to positively affect the unemployment rate that has especially hit the veteran population in the Garden State. According to a Department of Labor survey, New Jersey, at 10.8 percent, has the highest veteran unemployment rate in the country.
Well versed in human resource managers' processes, "Absolutely Abby" has made over 10,000 hiring decisions in her career. She explains that she "continues to see the detrimental yet correctable mistakes that people make during their job search.”
Driving through America in an RV, Abby was invited by the mayor of Atlantic City to speak at the networking event held at the city’s All Wars Memorial Building. New Jersey is her home state and where she began her tour, but now it is one of 33 states she has visited on her tour.
The event was created to bring together southern New Jersey veterans with service organizations and employers that can assist and enhance the lives of the brave men and women who defend our freedom.
The American Legion, Atlantic City Mayor Don Guardian, the New Jersey Parole Board and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs sponsored the four-hour-long networking opportunity.
Vendors were on hand to provide critical information and assistance with employment, homelessness, PTSD and criminal justice initiatives.
