Ms. Vickie. D.S. Dikes is the commander of the largest American Legion Post in the state of Georgia, Samuel G. Cooke, American Legion Post 267, Inc., Columbus, GA.

Ms. Dikes is a native of Thomaston, Georgia. She served in the United States Army from September 1976 to February 2004; rising from Private to Command Sergeant Major and has served in a variety of NCO leadership positions and assignments in the Adjutant General Corps. She is a graduate of numerous educational courses to include the United States Army Sergeant Major Academy Class 51. She holds an Associate of Arts degree in Applied Science from Excelsior University, Albany, New York and a Bachelors Degree in Human Resources from American Intercontinental University. Ms Dikes joined Samuel G. Cooke American Legion Post 267 in 1995. Since her retirement, she has remained a very active member of the Department of Georgia American Legion: six years as Adjutant for the Department of Georgia's 3rd District; three years as Assistant Adjutant for Post 267 and two years as Adjutant for Post 267. Ms. Dikes is a six year member of the American Legion's Gold Brigade; an organization in which a member recruits 50 new members a year. She has served as Vice President of the Retired Sergeants Major Association of Columbus and is currently serving her fourth year as the President of the Association. She is also serving her third year as Vice President of the Follow Me Chapter of the Adjutant General Regimental Association. Vickie is a member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club.

Ms. Dikes recently received an award from the Men's Progressive Club for her Community Involvement and also was recognized as one of the 20 Most Influential Women in Columbus.

Ms. Dikes is the mother of two adult children, Tiresha and Rodrick and also has two grandchildren.
