Patrick R. Rourk

Upon retirement from active military service, Mr. Rourk attained a position as an Employment Coordinator in the St. Lawrence County Office of Economic Development for six years and was appointed to position as the Director of the St. Lawrence County Veteran Service Department in 1997 from where he retired December 31, 2010.

He initially retired from the United States Air Force in 1990, after a 24-year career as a Security Police Superintendent and Security Director. He holds six Meritorious Service Medals, among his more than 40 medals and decorations, as a Chief Master Sergeant.

Mr. Rourk has been a sentry, patrol and drug detection dog handler, kennel master, a street cop, wrote and inspected security and police policy for the US Air Force, was a member of the Inspector General staff for Security Police, a Superintendent in a multi-national Security Forces Group and Squadron and the Director of Security for the first international Army and Air Force senior staff (General/Flag Officer) training and computerized war-gaming facility.

He has degrees in Criminal Justice and Industrial Security, a certificate in Police Science from the University of Virginia and is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigations ~ National Academy (Class 126 - 1981).

Mr. Rourk is married to Patricia M. (Dean) Rourk. They have a son, Dean, a daughter, Sheri, and four grandchildren.
