Roscoe Butler joined The American Legion on October 15, 2012. Currently, Roscoe serves as a National Field Service Representative; his area of responsibility includes VHA offices under Policy, which includes: Policy & Planning, Public Health, Interagency Health Affairs, Health Information, Patient Care Services, Readjustment Counseling Services, Research and Development, Informatics and Analytics, Health Informatics, Business Intelligence, Health Information Governance; Patient Care Services and Ethics in Healthcare. Roscoe will be conducting site visits to various Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical facilites in conjunction with the American Legion’s "A System Worth Saving" Program.
Roscoe served three years in the United States Army from 1974 to 1977. After his honorably discharged from the United States Army, Roscoe was employed by the Department of Veterans Affairs for 37 years, which the last position he held was Deputy Director for Business Policy, VHA Chief Business Office. He retired from VA in December 2011.
