I currently own condo in Florida. All payments have been made on time and are up-to-date. I tried to refinance but the property is underwater so the refinance was rejected as I owe more than the property is currently worth. Is there any help you can provide? Unfortunately, we don’t have a silver bullet for you, but we would point you towards the Federal Government’s Making Home Affordable program. You can call a counselor at 888-995-4673 and discuss your situation. If you take a look at www.legion.org/usaa, you’ll note there are programs designed for situations just like yours. Good luck.
