Financial Questions & Answers

I have around $43,000 in a traditional IRA. I am almost 65 years old. Where can I put this money so it grows more than it is now but also is “safe?” -Charles

That’s the million dollar question! If "safe" means that you don’t want to see any fluctuation whatsoever, then you’re limiting yourself to options like certificates of deposit, fixed annuities, money markets and the like. Another option might be to invest 80 or 90 percent of your IRA in conservative manner, but try something that offers the potential for long-term growth with a small slice of your portfolio. This approach may still meet your standard for safety, but also offer some potential for growth. Give one of our advisors a call at 877-699-2654, and they can help you craft an appropriate strategy.
