When you leave the military, the biggest question is "what's next?" It's a scary job market right now, but the skills you've received in the military make you highly marketable. The Legion sponsors dozens of veterans hiring fairs each year, and our employment experts also provide tips to writing resumes, networking and making a strong impression in the interview process.
Veteran entrepreneurs are invited to a small business and training expo at Walter Reed Medical Center on May 12. The event, hosted by the center’s Transition Employment Assistance Management Service (TEAMS), will give attendees guidance on writing business plans, training information, investment and financial planning assistance, and a chance to network with experts who are knowledgeable in business-owning as it pertains to veterans.
Exhibitors attending the expo include TransGlobal Business Systems, Virginia Department of Business Information Services, Howard University, the D.C. Women’s Business Center, and many more. The event will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Walter Reed’s Delano Hall, located in the facility’s northeast quadrant.
To attend, simply arrive at Delano Hall’s MWR Conference Center. The expo is free of charge, and no registration is necessary.
For more information, visit the TEAMS website or contact the division at (202) 356-1012.
