Technology and systems integrator MicroTech has been selected as a prime vendor for the U.S. Army $400 Million Information Technology Services - Small Business (ITS-SB) contract. MicroTech is maintained by Tony Jimenez, the company's CEO and founder and a member of The American Legion's Business Task Force. The groundbreaking federal contract opens the door to the small business community in providing technology services directly to the Army. MicroTech is the only service-disabled veteran-owned small business that qualified for the ITS-SB award.
Under the terms of the ITS-SB ID/IQ - an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity multiple-award performance-based contract vehicle - the U.S. Army, Department of Defense or any other Federal agency is authorized to fulfill their IT support requirements. A prime contractor on more than 100 federal projects and 20 plus contract vehicles, MicroTech offers access to 2500 vendors and over a million technology products across the government.
"This landmark award identifies the small businesses most prepared to anticipate the information technology challenges of warfighters," Jimenez said. "MicroTech has a solid history of ID/IQ success with all service branches. ITS-SB not only extends our capabilities across the DoD, but also showcases the competence of our staff of highly trained professionals - many of them military veterans - who understand the business of government."
A renowned and highly regarded IT business, MicroTech provides technology services, systems integration, product solutions, unified communications and collaboration, and innovation and integration primarily to the public sector. The organization has made quality assurance an important part of its customer service focus, achieving ISO 9001: 2008 and ISO 20000 certifications in the first five years of being in business, along with an elite CMMI Maturity Level 3 rating.
The ITS-SB contract is a companion contract to the U.S. Army Information Technology Enterprise Services (ITES) program. The ITES ID/IQ contracts make available technology hardware and services to enable Army enterprise-wide IT solutions. The contract term is over a five year period of performance -a 36-month base period and one 24-month option period.
"The introduction of ITS-SB demonstrates the Army's confidence in small business to tackle its most forward-leaning Information Technology requirements in support of Warfighters," Jimenez said. "MicroTech is honored to be selected to carry-out this important mission."
