MILWAUKEE—The American Legion #76 Freedom Car is heading to West Allis, Wis., to qualify for the NASCAR Busch Series event at the Milwaukee Mile. The event will be held on June 23.

The Milwaukee Mile continues to be one of America’s premier auto racing venues. Motorized racing events date back to 1903, a full eight years before the first Indianapolis 500, making The Mile the oldest, continually operating motor speedway in the world.

A virtual who’s-who of motorsports’ finest competitors have raced here. From turn-of-the-century "speed contests" and 24-hour endurance races to AAA and USAC-sanctioned Indy car and Stock Car events through the 1970’s, to Champ Car and NASCAR Busch Series competition since the early 1980’s, The Mile has hosted the gamut of world-class events.

Team Johnson Motorsports is proud of The American Legion Family - The American Legion, The Sons of The American Legion and The American Legion Auxiliary. The American Legion Racing Program is still in the “grassroot” stages raising awareness about The American Legion nationwide.
