Jeff Steele, assistant director of the Legion’s Legislative Division, is testifying on Capitol Hill today. He is appearing before a Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee to communicate the Legion’s support of a number of bills. Among them is a measure to increase penalties against financial institutions that violate rules designed to protect military families against home foreclosures. Another – an omnibus bill – is designed to help returning warriors find employment and addresses veteran homelessness.
