Monitoring two House Veterans Affairs subcommittee hearings

The Legion is monitoring two House Veterans Affairs subcommittee hearings. Several bills are being discussed, including one that authorizes VA to communicate by email with veterans claiming benefits, another that mandates cost-benefits analyses of large VA contracts, and one that requires public disclosure of the number of veterans employed by federal contractors.

Find out what else we have been doing..

I'm all for it. I use the "Secure Messaging" that VA uses at "MyHealtheVet" and it is great to be able to actually communicate with your primary or assistant without having to jump through hoops. If the VA can put something like that together within the claims department and the claims personnel actually respond, it would be a tremendous help and probably would speed up the claims process. The whole key to this is maintaining security though. If they can't guarantee that, no one will use it.
