Attending Microsoft’s Conversation on Veterans: Veterans Employment and Training Panel Discussion

Staff from the Legion’s Veterans Employment & Education Division is attending Microsoft’s Conversation on Veterans: Veterans Employment and Training Panel Discussion. This event will discuss how can the private sector best help support veterans as they successfully transition from the military to civilian employment. In November 2013, Microsoft announced a new program to provide software development training and testing to U.S. active-duty members transitioning out of their military careers. The Microsoft Software & Systems Academy is a pilot project providing a 16-week course to prepare service members with the certifications required for technology careers as developers, applications engineers, and IT project managers. The program’s first successful graduating class from Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington State will be expanding to bases in California and Texas soon.
