Meeting with VA secretary, national security advisor at White House
July 29, 2010
American Legion Executive Director Peter S. Gaytan is meeting with National Security Advisor Gen. James Jones and VA Secretary Eric Shinseki at the White House today.
Congress sent to the president for his signature a 60 billion $ war bill. Included in this bill was 13.4 billion for the VA. This is the monies that the VA requested to pay veterans retroactivily for 3 presumptive diseases. So far not one of the services organizations has even mentioned this part of the bill and the VA still has not issued it final regulation. This has been going on since 10/2009. Is the American Legion going to talk to the VA secretary on this subject matter or do we veterans continue to be in the dark?
