I retired from active duty in 2005, and now work full time for the government. I have the new Post 9-11 GI Bill, unfortunately I cannot transfer those benefits to my children because I retired prior to the summer of 2009.
Not only would transferability be a great financial relief, but my children would be allowed utilize the Bill to further their education. Did we not serve during the same period as the others that are allowed to transfer the Bill to their family members?
Thanks You Legion for what you do for our veterans!
God Bless the Troops and the USA!!
