Sending out Samsung Scholarship packets

Americanism staff is sending out packets that contain materials for American Legion Boys State directors to acknowledge the Samsung American Legion Scholarship finalist that will be selected from each of their programs this spring. Each packet contains an award plaque and certificate for presentation to each finalist, and public relations materials.

The Legion is present at the “Veterans Campaign” workshop at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. The two-day event is dedicated to veterans who wish to continue their national service by running for political office. Speakers include several Congressmen who are military veterans, prominent military press representatives and Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden, an Iraq War veteran and son of Vice President Joe Biden.
