National Headquarters staff is attending the annual American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) meeting in Nashville, Tennessee. An American Legion Baseball information booth is being staffed by several American Legion Baseball coaches and department Baseball chairmen who also are attending the meeting.

Helping military families through the Family Support Network

The American Legion's Family Support Network continues to provide the families of mobilized service personnel assistance when support is needed for a variety of everyday chores. These tasks may include assistance with grocery shopping, child care, mowing the grass, fixing the family car and other routine household jobs. Families in need may contact the Legion’s Family Support Network at (800) 504-4098 or apply online at www.legion.org/fsn.

Delivering gift baskets to homeless veterans in Washington, D.C.

Representatives from The American Legion delivered Christmas baskets filled with turkeys and other items, along with winter clothing and an assortment of toys, to homeless veterans at the Southeast Veterans Service Center in Washington, D.C.

Americanism/Children & Youth Division Assistant Director Colin Short will deliver the invocation and benediction this evening at a memorial service for Melvin Biddle, Indiana’s last remaining World War II Medal of Honor recipient. Short and Department of Indiana Adjutant Steve Short will present the U.S. flag to Biddle's family.
