The System Worth Saving Task Force is making site visits to VA medical centers in Des Moines, Iowa, and New York City. They are interviewing administrators, staff and patients about the quality of VA health care and patient satisfaction.
The American Legion's 75th High School Oratorical Scholarship Program is gets under way with quarterfinals followed by semifinals. The championship finals will take place Sunday at 10:00 a.m. EDT, which will be aired live on www.legion.org.
Zach Hearn of The American Legion's VA & R Division is in St. Paul and Hutchinson, Minn., conducting two classes for state and county veterans service officers, to explain the work of Legion representatives at VA's Board of Appeals and to offer advice on how to process disability claims. A combined total of about 150 people are expected to attend. Hearn will also conduct one-on-one advisory sessions to give service officers a better understanding of the claims appeal process.
