The Legion’s Veterans’ Policy Oversight Committee is meeting in Washington. The committee will hear presentations on the defense budget, issues faced by servicemembers transitioning to the civilian world, and the Department of Defense’s commemoration of the Vietnam War’s 50th anniversary. Speakers will include VA and DoD representatives, as well as Legion staff.
The Legion’s Post-Traumatic Stress-Traumatic Brain Injury Ad-Hoc Committee is meeting in Washington, D.C., today. The committee will hear from several experts in the field of psychology and veterans health care. Speakers will include representatives from the Department of Veterans Affairs, the National Intrepid Center of Excellence, the U.S. Army and the RAND Corporation.
American Legion Emblem Sales is mailing its 2012 American Legion Baseball catalog to 4,500 members of The American Legion family. Individuals who placed a Baseball-related order with Emblem Sales in 2011 will receive a catalog, as well as all team business managers from 2011. American Legion staff and volunteers are conducting System Worth Saving site visits in Salt Lake City and Nephi, Utah, and in Pocatello, Idaho. The focus of the visits is rural health care for veterans.
