The System Worth Saving Task Force is conducting two town hall meetings in California for veterans in San Francisco and Long Beach. The topics of discussion are the quality of health care at their VA medical facilities and patient satisfaction. Both meetings are scheduled for 6 p.m. Pacific Time. The San Francisco meeting (hosted by American Legion Post 384) is in Room 207 of the War Memorial Veterans Building, located at 401 Van Ness Avenue. The Long Beach meeting is at American Legion Post 496, located at 5938 Parkcrest Street.
Legislative staff are attending several hearings in theHouse and Senate. Staff will attend hearings of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, the House Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee, the Senate Appropriations Committee on Defense, and the Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs Subcommittee.

Richard Dumancas & Lori Perkio of the Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation Division are attending the Department of Veterans Affairs Schedule for Rating Disabilities (VASRD) Status Summit in Arlington, Va. The five-day event provides for public overview of proposed disability evaluation criteria. The VASRD summit will use public commentary in working drafts of proposed regulations, and make the drafts available to the public.
