Laying wreath on Korean War Veterans Memorial

An American Legion representative is laying a wreath this morning at the Korean War Veterans Memorial in Washington, as part of the Annual Day of Recognition Commemoration Ceremony. The armistice that ended hostilities in the Korean War was signed at 10 a.m. on July 27, 1953, in Panmunjom, a village on the border of North and South Korea. An afternoon ceremony will also take place in Arlington National Cemetery at the Korean War Veterans Meditation Bench, honoring all U.S troops killed or missing in action during the war.
