The System Worth Saving Task Force is hosting a veterans town hall meeting in Memphis, Tenn., to discuss the quality of health care at the local VA medical center.
Location and time: American Legion Post 27, 2994 Summer Ave., Memphis at 6 p.m.
The task force is also conducting site visits to VA medical centers in Baltimore and Milwaukee, to evaluate the quality of health care and patient satisfaction. Task force members will interview patients, staff and administrators.

Sending reminders to departments about registration deadline for Legion Baseball teams.

National American Legion Baseball staff is sending reminders to department baseball chairmen and department headquarters that the national deadline for teams to register for the 2012 American Legion Baseball season is May 15. Teams failing to do so by that date are subject a $200 fine payable to the department. In accordance with the 2012 ALB Rulebook, any team failing to register by June 1, 2012, shall not be permitted to play American Legion Baseball.

The American Legion’s National Executive Committee will meet in Indianapolis. The NEC will hear from National Commander Fang A. Wong, as well as receive reports from various American Legion commissions and committees. The NEC also will hear from the Legion’s Centennial Task Force for the Future and the TBI-PTSD Ad Hoc Committee.
