Byron parachuted into Normandy on D-day, June 6, 1944, at 1:28 A M! He and one buddy had to push out three bundles of ammunition, jump and then retrieve the ammunition and then hide it. They had to hike to the 101st Artillery group and tell them where it was hidden! He stayed in the combat zone for a month and was then sent back to England as a rigger! He went back to France and when he was traveling south to catch a ship back home, Hitler surrendered! He traveled to Boston, Mass. on the Queen Mary.

After the war, he attended the university of Mississippi, taught school and coached baseball, basketball and track! He then was employed at the Dept of Agriculture from which he retired 40 yrs ago.

At 101, he can name every President of the US, the years they served, their successor and some details about them which was significant! He is amazing and has been recognized in the Hall of Fame in Olive Branch, Miss., but I believe he needs recognition in your magazine.
