21 Guns

My heart will shatter after each sound
Each shot that rings out
Another tear hits the ground
Every time there's a shot
It's a salute to your run
But my heart will forever
Despise 21 guns

21 guns salute your name
21 guns remember your pain
21 guns ring out for you
21 guns say your fight is through
21 guns means respect held high
But 21 guns for me meant goodbye

You were honored the way you deserved to be
But I can't help but hate the pain they bring
My pride says to hate it
But you taught me better
So I won't disrespect it
Not me, no never

21 guns salute your name
21 guns remember your pain
21 guns ring out for you
21 guns say your fight is through
21 guns means respect held high
But 21 guns for me meant goodbye

I'll stand up with pride
For the red white and blue
I'll stand up with pride
To give my salute to you
I can still hear it
Though the sound dims for some
But for me I hear nothing
But 21 guns
