On my way today I met two hero's I see almost everyday.
Older people often forget, younger people never knew.
These men spent their young years in war on lands and seas so far.

Just to mention a bomber raid and his eyes light up and he begins to smile. His life was put on the line many of times day and night and he
never complained about those flights.

There is another I see taking his daily walk. His health is broken
and it is a struggle for him you see, because he spent years underneath
the dangerous sea.

When I see them today with their legs bent and their backs
bowed, I think of the hard times they spent.

They were one time handsome and bold. Today they are almost
forgotten and old.

These are the true hero's of our time. So when you meet men like this,
stop and speak because they will soon disappear and all you will know is what you hear.
