2013 World Series field set

Eight teams won their respective divisions’ regional tournaments for a spot in the 2013 American Legion Baseball World Series in Shelby, N.C., Aug. 16-20. The following are the eight American Legion World Series teams:

Northeast Region – Branford, Conn.; sponsored by Post 83

Mid-Atlantic Region – Brooklawn, N.J.; sponsored by Post 72

Southeast Region – Wilmington, N.C.; sponsored by Post 10

Mid-South Region – Gonzales, La.; sponsored by Post 81

Great Lakes Region – Napoleon, Ohio; sponsored by Post 300

Central Plains Region – Burnsville, Minn.; sponsored by Post 1700

Northwest Region – Waipahu, Hawaii.

Western Region – Petaluma, Calif.; sponsored by Post 28

Two of the Legion teams advancing to the World Series are familiar with the field at Keeter Stadium — Brooklawn Post 72 played in the Series in 2011 and was the runner-up in 2012 after losing the championship game to New Orleans Post 125. Waipahu played in the Series in 2011.
