Five games on the slate for the Northeast and it started off with a wild one. Shrewsbury returned in an elimination game to once again score double digits, and it was enough to eliminate Cumberland, 10-7. In the other elimination game, the two Connecticut teams squared off with Southington topping Ellington, 12-1. In the winners bracket, Braintree scored three in the top of the seventh to rally for a 4-2 win over Essex. Rochester couldn’t duplicate its offensive success from the morning contest and fell to Portland in the final game of the day, 2-1.
