64 teams advance to baseball regionals

From Aug. 5-9, 64 American Legion Baseball teams will compete in their respected division's regional tournaments in hopes of winning their way to The American Legion Baseball World Series. Once regional games get under way Thursday, Aug. 5, baseball fans can follow all the action surrounding the tournaments by checking the game tracker where scores, stats and more will be posted live. And box scores will appear after the games via the Legion Web site.

Each regional tournament champion will advance to The American Legion Baseball World Series, which takes place Aug. 13-18 in Spokane, Wash. Tickets for the World Series games are currently available for purchase for $6 a session per person; there are nine sessions. Additionally, tickets for the evening Banquet of Champions on Aug. 12, featuring Hall of Fame third baseman George Brett, can be purchased for $35.

And once again, fans can tune into the Legion's Baseball Web site to watch all 14 games of the World Series live.
