The American Legion awards between $22,000 and $25,000 in scholarships to deserving baseball players each year. Each Department Baseball Committee may select a player from its department to receive this scholarship. Download the Legion Baseball scholarship form. Any team manager or head coach of an American Legion post–affiliated team may nominate a player for consideration of this award.

Belgrano Trophy department narratives due to National Headquarters

Awarded annually to the department which has rendered the most outstanding support during the period August 1 – July 31 to the program of Boy Scouts of America. The award is based on the number of troops organized, strength of existing troops and general welfare of the Scout movement under Legion sponsorship within the department based on written reports with substantiating evidence submitted to National Headquarters 15 days prior to the National Convention.

96th American Legion World Series

The 96th American Legion World Series will be Aug. 10-15 in Shelby, N.C., where eight teams will compete for the championship title. The ALWS is played annually at Veterans Field at Keeter Stadium in Shelby, N.C., the permanent home of the series since 2011.

American Legion Legacy Run

The 2023 American Legion Legacy Run will be held Aug. 20-24. During this event, more than 300 American Legion Riders and others trek over 1,000 miles to raise money for the American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships to children of the fallen and disabled. 104th American Legion National Convention
