Monster.com to host virtual career fair

Monster.com will host a virtual career fair for veterans, servicemembers and their spouses from Aug. 21-23 in coordination with Military.com and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Attendees who register for the online event will get the opportunity to network electronically with representatives from companies and organizations in the public and private sectors. In addition to partnerships with Military.com and the U.S. Chamber, The American Legion has long maintained an active relationship with Monster.com.

Registration is free and can be submitted up until the start of the event. Registrants need to supply their personal information, branch of service, security clearance, work and education history, and military status. Spouses who are interested in registering can leave blank the required military fields.

Monster.com’s Veterans Virtual Career Fair aims to create a collaborative online environment where attendees can network electronically with potential employers and other attendees. All attendees are encouraged to upload their résumés for employers to review prior to the event.

Past Hiring Our Heroes career fairs have been a resounding successes in terms of veterans hired and interviews given. This electronic job fair figures to be no different, as more companies and vendors will be able to attend and maintain a presence due to the virtual nature of the event.
