CWF application online, submissions start May 1

This week marks American Legion Child Welfare Foundation (CWF) week. Since 1955, more than $13 million in CWF grants have been awarded to nonprofits that support America's youth. Last October, nearly $637,000 in grants were awarded to 27 nonprofits.

The CWF application is online at www.cwf-inc.org. Applications will be accepted starting May 1 and must be postmarked to American Legion National Headquarters no later than July 15.

CWF accepts funding proposals from nonprofits for projects that contribute to the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual welfare of children. Grants are only given to entities that help U.S. children in a large geographic area; they are not awarded for day-to-day operating expenses or special operating expenses.

Donations to CWF can be made at www.legion.org/donate. The Sons of The American Legion are the largest contributors to CWF; raising more than $594,000 in 2017.
