HF Net report
Sun. 10 Nov. 2013
7238 KHz
NCS W3CRR, Craig

Net commenced 2100 UTC
Net terminated 2200 UTC

Under generally favorable conditions, though with a high (S7-8) QRN level at W3CRR’s QTH, 38 + stations were checked in. Several others attempted to contact net control but their calls were lost in pileups and noise. Attempts will be made to rectify this situation during the next HF net in December by calling for check-ins sequentially by call area and seeking assistance from relay stations. Most check-ins were located in the Midwest with a few others along the east Coast. Experience indicates that this will be typical at the elected time of day and frequency, thus demonstrating the need for additional net times and frequencies (and control operators) to assure more geographically widespread participation.
