The director of the Legion’s Legislative Division, Tim Tetz, is monitoring a hearing of the “supercommittee” (the Joint Deficit Reduction Committee. While the "supercommittee" works to reduce the national deficit, the Legion is actively campaigning against budget cuts that would negatively impact the missions of the Department of Defense and Department of Veterans Affairs.
