Texas post claims Color Guard titles

American Legion Post 472 of Harrisburg, Texas, took home two trophies in the National Color Guard competition during the 92nd American Legion National Convention in Milwaukee on Aug. 28. Post 472 won both the Military Open Class and the Advancing/Retrieving Colors competitions.

Taking first in the military class of the Color Guard Contest was Bloomfield Memorial Post 196 of Bloomfield, Ind. In the Color Guard Contest's open class, Eagles Elite Color Guard Unit 564 of Worden, Ill., claimed the first-place trophy.

In the afternoon Concert Band Contest at the Milwaukee Theater, American Legion Band of the Tonawandas of Tonawanda, N.Y., scored a 94.9 out of a possible 100 points to claim the championship.
