'Last Flag Flying' film being shown during Fall Meetings

All American Legion family members are welcome to attend a free showing of “Last Flag Flying” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Meridian Ballroom West at Sheraton Indianapolis City Centre Hotel, 31 W. Ohio St., Indianapolis. The showing is taking place in conjunction with the Fall Meetings, Oct. 9-12.

Based on a 2005 novel by Darryl Ponicsan, “Last Flag Flying” tells the story of former Navy Corpsman Larry “Doc” Shepherd, played by Steve Carell. Thirty years after they served together in Vietnam, Shepherd reunites with his old Marine buddies, Sal Nealon (Bryan Cranston) and Rev. Richard Mueller (Laurence Fishburne) to bury his son, a Marine killed in the Iraq War. The film is directed by Richard Linklater.

Popcorn, pretzels, water and soda will be provided at the showing.
