TALARC training video completed

The American Legion has long had an interest in training and preparing its members to aid and support their communities during emergencies. To that end, the Internal Affairs Division at National Headquarters is developing a two-hour amateur radio "Leadership Education and Development [LEAD] Training" module and video for posts and districts interested in starting TALARC programs that could assist disaster preparedness efforts.

The American Legion amateur radio program ties in to existing Legion agreements with the Department of Homeland Security, and also with Legion national security resolutions pertaining to disaster preparedness, civil defense, STEM programs in schools and the National Emergency Fund.

The full module is a work-in-progress, but the video that will augment the training has been completed and can be viewed on the TALARC website: www.legion.org/hamradio/236363/new-talarc-promotional-video-available-yo....
