• Stuart, AK6XR, offered a short history on American Legion China Post 1 in Exile.
• Bob, KC6UIS, spoke about CALARS [Calif. American Legion Amateur Radio Service] and invited all to join the department's HF and EchoLink nets. Bob also mentioned that the Department of California is first to have a department amateur radio station up and running. Bob also talked briefly about DMR, Digital Mobile Radio.
• John, K8DHH, reported that amateurs in his area were planning operations for a Special Event Station, Call sign N8S, on July 8-9, 2017, to mark the 100th Anniversary of the establishment of Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Michigan. Operations are expected on both 20 Meters and 40 Meters; specific frequencies are yet to be determined.
