Discussion on the net was offered in regard to the following:
• Callers were asked to provide information on Hurricane Matthew, WX conditions at their QTH, reports on any planned or completed involvement with emergency management agencies along the East Coast of the United States.
• Mark, W2UIS, reminded those on the net that he has begun a 20-meter net from the Northeast region of the country. He also passed to the net information on EchoLink conferences where information was being relayed from operators along the Eastern Seaboard who were actively involved in storm communications. Mark noted that EchoLink Conference Node KA1AAA was currently active and passing such traffic. Also, ARRL has indicated that HF WX info freqs include 7.268 MHz [40 Meters] and 14.325 MHz [20 Meters].
• Ed, N4LAV, reported good WX at Marietta, GA, but family in Miami area had "battened down" in preparation for the hurricane.
• Fred, WA5LIE, reminded the net that the third weekend in October was the BSA's Jamboree-on-the-Air and encouraged those on the net to participate as able.
