Announcements:
IRLP Net Coming to a Close
The Legion radio club's monthly "Internet Radio Linking Project" Net, or IRLP, which has operated for years on K9DC's Node 9735, has experienced a sharp decline in participation over the last several months. Because of this, the net will cease operations effective January 2017. The last IRLP Net will be conducted Dec. 10, 2016. Options will be pursued through the coming months, and alternatives to IRLP operations will be offered in late winter or early spring of 2017. For the time being, those who wish to participate in net operations but lack HF or D-Star equipment are encouraged to make use of TALARC's EchoLink Net. The net meets on the second Saturday of the month on the Family Motor Coach Association's EchoLink Conference Node, FMCA-ARC.
K9DC announced his pleasure at hosting the TALARC IRLP net over the years. Dave understands our desire to step back and consider new times and purposes for IRLP, and stands ready to assist. With no other traffic, and there being no other nodes or reflectors connected to Node 9730, channel 5, Net Control ended the net at 1936 UTC and returned the repeater to normal use.
