K5TAL TALARC Digital Voice Net July 11, 2019 7pm CDT – 8:01 pm CDT

Year 1, Week 1.

This was the inaugural Digital Voice Net. We did not completely know what to expect. We knew there would be “glitches” that we would need to work out because we were attempting to do something we had never done before. Lee K5CUB and I had some limited experimenting between his C4FM mode and my D-Star mode. I had made some contacts between D-Star and DMR (the DMR being in China) and those were successful. With only one contact that I knew of, I was able to hear everyone on whatever mode they were using, and they evidently could hear me. There were 23 check ins, and there were 6 from MS, 1 from NM, 2 from GA, 3 from IN, 2 from FL,1 CA, 1 RI, 1 WA, 1 MI, 1 WV, 1 TX and 3 from Canada.
