The 21st annual American Legion Junior Air Rifle Championship gets under way today in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Many members from the Newport Rifle Club Junior Team in Middletown, R.I., collected more than 200 DVDs to send to servicemembers in Afghanistan.

The 15 sporter and 15 precision category national finalists will be competing in the Legion’s Junior Shooting Sports Air Rifle National Championships in August.

The qualification round of The American Legion Junior Shooting Sports Program air rifle match is complete.

During the Legion's Air Rifle Championship, Catherine Green from Rhode Island won the precision category, and Hannah Black from Virginia won the sporter.
