Indianapolis to welcome Lt. Gen. Montgomery from Black Hawk Down

U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Thomas Montgomery will be providing Hoosiers with an inside look into his experiences commanding the U.S. military in 1993 in Somalia, which inspired the Academy Award-winning film "Black Hawk Down."

His presentation will be held at the Indiana War Memorial from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, May 18, Armed Forces Day. The event is free to the public, however, a $10 donation is encouraged. Donations support the Armed Forces Day Council of Indianapolis' mission "to educate the public of the duty, honor and sacrifices made through military service."
