It appears that the President will not work with the new congress. I hope that I'm wrong, but if this happens the country will continue to be the loser.
I don't understand why he doesn't understand that "elections have consequences".
I think the people have spoken very clearly.

Poorly. Obama is going to do everything possible to get the Senate to either shut down the gov or cut funding to gov.

The pied piper led the lemmings over the cliff. Republicans need a spine.

Prognostication is not always a reliable and trustworthy resort endeavor for thinking (human) minds. Wait, see, and listen for the outcome in BOTH houses of (the U.S.) Congress. Argumentation is relentless (both "pro" and "con") and indefinite in duration , on both Capitol Hill and at the White House.

The congressional leadership has already stated their goals. They will do nothing to make the lives of everyday citizens like you and me better, and they will do all they can to obstruct progress and make life worse for us. They won't even pass their own bills if the think the President might sign them.

Lame Duck congress will try to pass bills that should be left to the next, no effect though as POTUS will vindictively deluge the country with EOs. Next congress will encounter vetoes at every turn. Life in this country is about to get ugly (third world ugly).

I selected other : Because the POTUS has already shown that he is going on his own and the congress has not even changed hands yet.I feel (myself)this is going to be another fight for power. They have never worked together,Why should they do it Now?These People are only for the Party ,Democrooks and Republicans.

The midterm election results are a mixed bag. The country needs true fiscal conservatives at the helm and neither party offers what is needed to right the course. The Republican party took us into senseless wars in middle east, and Obama failed to timely right that mistake. Stop borrowing money to pay for wars and Government handouts. This would be a nice start to improving the state of the nation. Just think of how much more productive society would be if those "able" folks on welfare had to take a job.

This is no longer the land of the Free, nor the home of the Brave. Congress, the Courts, and the people have allowed our military to be decimated, untrained, poorly equipped, and poorly directed by a community organizer wannabe dictator and his lackey's. We kill our future while they develop in their own mother's wombs. We are on the slippery slope to perdition unless we get our moral backbone back.

HOPEFULLY, WE WILL SEE A SECURE BORDER AND CULLING OF ILLEGALS SO THAT MORE AMERICANS CAN FIND FULL TIME JOBS. WE ALSO NEED TO CANCEL THE WHOLE obamaCARE MESS AND OPEN UP THE FREE MARKET WITH A FEW TWISTS. WE ALSO HAVE TO REALIZE THE MIDDLE EAST IS A NEVER-ENDING PROBLEM. WE MUST GET OUT NOW AND LET THEM KILL EACH OTHER UNTIL THEY ATTACK US AGAIN; THEN NUKE THE WHOLE REGION.

we have faced, fought, and prevailed against multiple fanatic regimes within the last 75 years. we proved that a nuclear device saves millions of lives. we would be negligent and inhumane if we had the ability to counter threats, save lives, restore respect and peace by using nuclear weapons and did not. i hate the brutality of war. the thought of innocent people being murdered is justification enough to eliminate the perpetrators using all the means at our disposal, including tactical nuclear weapons

This election, like those past, has proven that political parties are more schoolyard bully choices than actual attempts to do what is right. A very well funded religious organization is trying to destroy the US from within by having us argue about trivial things, e.g. gays, abortion, and all the other distractions that divide our country. In 1967 I joined the Air Force. They trained me to do a job and stay focused on it. I did. Now our political leaders need to try to duplicate that effort.
