How much of the six thousand plus pages coming out of DC can be believed. Nobody read the two thousand pages of the ACA.

Submitted by JOHN ALBRIGHT (not verified) : Dec 11, 2014 2:24pm

My opinion is that the Senate Intelligence Committee thru Senator Feinstein's eagerness to get revenge has done an injustice to those in the CIA and the United States. My concern is that if she was such an honorable person why did she wait to now to ensure that this report was released? In my opinion this just a representation of how she has been serving in all the past years.

Submitted by Bob Elam (not verified) : Dec 11, 2014 4:13pm

Why did she wait until now to release the report? Because the Dems lost control of the Senate and she is "P'd" off! She is a typical LiberalProgressive Democrat.

You said it brother! This report is political payback and has poisoned the well for the incoming session of newly elected officials. Maybe we should point out the Drone program. It's just fine for this administration to kill indiscriminately, but God forbid one of these rat bast&rds was the least bit uncomfortable during the last administration. If it was up to me there would be large swaths of the middle east that would be glowing on the dark. They said 'no war for oil', well we didn't get any oil out of the deal. The Iraqi government gave those contracts to China. It should have been scorched earth baby! They didn't have anything as far as natural resources until we went there and developed these vast oil fields. We should have turned that place into GLASS as we left.

I think the current fuss over the CIA actions are a disgraceful political move by Democrats. The CIA was given a job to do and they did it. We need to fight fire with fire. The terrorists arevanimals and don't deserve any considerations as humans.

What are you expressing such negative comments on Feinstein for? You've known all along she enriches herself and husband at the expense of taxpayers. She has demonstrated many times over the years her ultra liberal (or should I say communist)political positions in her votes and other deeds. It goes on and on, and now you're angry? You've just had the blinder pulled off your eyes, and you don't like what you see!! The negative consequences for being blind over the past 40 will begin to reveal themselves shortly, and then what will you do? She will be permitted to keep all the money she has stolen from the American people when she escapes with her loot (more that this organization has ever accumulated.) Keep your blinder off!!!

This report was a vindictive political statement. I support President George Bush's decision to allow these types of methods. I think we should use everything at our command to protect the country. The enemy we face in Radical Islam is unlike any we have ever faced before and they are bent on world domination.

Submitted by Tom Sursa (not verified) : Dec 11, 2014 2:45pm

When fighting a war, one must slightly more ruthless than one's enemies in order to win. Let's look at that last 60 years. From Korea forward, we were more concerned about our image than results. Our enemies were more ruthless than we were, and we've lost every time. We need to dial it up, not down, if we really care about the outcome of our actions.

Submitted by Jon Merrow (not verified) : Dec 11, 2014 2:59pm

The only wars won unconditionally in the 20th century were under Democratic Administrations (e.g., WWI and WWII). As far as I know we did not win these wars by torturing people.

Submitted by Bill Vogt (not verified) : Dec 11, 2014 5:38pm

No sir, we blew them to smithereens instead! Read a history book or two on WWII. Read about Dresden (firebombed, at least 100,000 civilians killed). Then there was a little thing in Japan (Hiroshima & Nagasaki). I don't know if there was ever a body count on those, because the bodies disappeared in a flash. The only important thing in war is to win it! And, sir, we are in a war with Islam just as sure as I am typing on this laptop! And we had better win, the option would be unbearable. I like my head right where it is, thank you. You have a Merry Christmas.

War is a messy situation as a survivor of water boarding I can personally say it is not a painful experience; it scares you into thinking you are going to drowning you become more compliant and are willing to answer the questions truthfully. They make it clear to you, if they catch you in a lie you will be back for a second or even a third experience. Yes I am concerned with collateral damage the killing of innocents during a drone attack. The answer to that is don't hangout with American enemy combatants. War is war and we will come after our enemies and kill them. Our crime is the ones we captured were not charge with a criminal act against the USA and tried before a military tribunal. GITMO was nothing more than a glorified hotel with bars and a 12 ft. fence around it.

Submitted by Cecil W. (not verified) : Dec 11, 2014 3:28pm

Actually the use of drones saves lives. During Vietnam War we used "dumb bombs" to attack the enemy and in the process killed thousands of innocents.

As a Fleet Reservist Navy Chief, the United States of America must live by the values found in the United States Constitution (USC). The framework of the Geneva Convention remain with every person who don the United States Armed Forces uniform. We can not waver... If we went after Adolf Hitler in World War II; well in World War III, the CIA operative under the Bush and Obama administration must be brought before a court of law. Our sensibility to right and wrong has not changed. My own sensibilities to 6 million Jewish people dying in the European battlefield will not change, as well. The CIA has to work within the framework of the Geneva Convention to protect the men and women who have been detached from their native land. The Convention gives then enlightenment that 320 million people on American soil are with them. The United States Armed Forces will not leave no man or woman behind. We are the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)thus are the enforcers of the Geneva Convention. Torture against any person involves measure of "Capital Punishment" by the perpetrators. The United States of America (USC) must condone torture of any sort. The United States Constitution prevent such heinous acts here on our soil and around the work. The United States Armed Forces is compelled to wipe out people authorize torture as a means to gain information. Remember, 6 million Jewish people were tortured by Adolf Hitler and his band of Neo-Nazi(s) during World War II.

The way I see it is the enemy isn't going to be nice with us. If the blame America first crowd thinks that we are so bad, they're free to leave. The rest of the world is laughing at us. I agree with you Bill. There is no declared war. Who are we fighting & why? Billions get wasted with NO benefit to America or Americans. Fighting for America's freedoms is BS. Since when, in war, do you blow things up then have to pay to rebuild it. America loses men and bullions of dollars while bankers, oil companies, arms manufacturers and friends of politicians make fortunes. Sounds stupid to me. Bring our troops and money home & who gives a crap what the other side of the globe does.
George Washington said to stay out of foreign entanglements. I'm with George because this sure isn't working. America first!

Submitted by Milt (not verified) : Dec 11, 2014 8:01pm

THNK YOU SO MUCH Milt. I am sickened by the mindset of most of the people on this line. Please read George Washington's thoughts on torture. Also I once read of a German interrogator that just walked and talked with POW'S that gained more information then the Gestapo ever did with their torture. McCain is NO traitor he was just telling it as he saw it from a REAL POW's point of view. Not to mention most of you who condoned the torture or "enhanced interrogation" probably consider yourselves as Christians - Well show me in the bible where it says torture is ok. We MUST be better than our enemy or our cause is lost.

Are we ever going to return to being the strongest and most respected nation in the World? We haven't won a war since 1945. Our Government releases too much information to the media, and as a result too many conflicts occur. Have the politicians and the media forgotten the tragedies that have occurred in the past 13 to 14 years? We've lost countless innocent people due terrorist actions. And the response by our leaders has been disgraceful. The CIA report should not have been released. Fight FIRE WITH FIRE. We should not allow any terrorist actions to go unpunished. Get rid of the ACLU; that organization has done more damage to our country and our principles than some of our enemies.

Submitted by Evano Cunha (not verified) : Dec 11, 2014 6:39pm

The report was a total waste of taxpayers' money. A partisan hatchet job! As far as I know, water boarding never killed or permanently maimed anyone under our auspices (unlike BHO's drones). I believe we received actionable intelligence from the practices CIA employed on known terrorists.

The old adage "You catch more flies with sugar than with vinegar" still holds true. More would be gained by showing these terrorists the era of their ways than with torturing them. If you disagree, I understand that you don't understand human dignity.

Submitted by Steve Downs (not verified) : Dec 11, 2014 7:37pm

The Congress should have kept their mouths shut on the torture done at Gitmo. That info provides impetus for our enemy to apply inhumane treatment to our soldiers. When will our "esteemed" representatives question first what will ensue once the info they have, right or wrong, may happen to our soldiers and allies? Bush and Chaney are the ones who should be held accountable for all of the deaths and maiming of our military. They invaded a sovereign country regardless of how they govern their country. Iraq was no threat to us. The American people were duped. by Washington. That is also what happened in Vietnam.

Submitted by Tom Kay (not verified) : Dec 11, 2014 9:30pm

If we leave it up to most of the members of our government they along with the president would be inviting the terrorists to the white house for a steak dinner and open discussion. This report never should have come out. The more we patronize the terrorists and keep on putting them on the front page of the news and at the top of our tv news reports the more they love it. They are murderers plain and simple. They torture and then when you refuse to conform to their beliefs they kill you in mass numbers. If not that they threaten you and then decapitate you and create of video of it for all to see. Wake up America before it is to late if it is not already. GOD BLESS THE USA.

Difficult times call for extraordinary measures.
However, many American rights were trampled on by Bush/ Chaney.
Having said that, I was with Bush right up until he and, Cheney created the SNAFU called Iraq and, "Operation IraqI Oil."
For NEVER having served the military, Cheney is sure a HAWK with other peoples lives and, a war profiteer to boot. He's not worth a xxxx.

Should all government officials be water boarded, just to make sure they are on the American Public's side? After all they are in a position to cause more terror than most captured fighters could ever hope to. We have become a nation of cowards. The news makes us worried about everything, so afraid that we will torture mindlessly. I again say if we have the heart to torture suspected villains than wouldn't that include most of congress? Since we wouldn't want to torture them we shouldn't want to begin a process that might just take us there; if we start. We are better than that; I hope.
