It COULD be a turning point that will help unite Jordan, the U.S. and other allies IF we had good leadership in the White House, but we don't, so the killing of innocent people will continue.

Yeah right, Bronxite. You sound like an anti-veteran liberal troll who attacks anyone who dares insult your hero, the worst president since Carter.

Your quotes:
>>"there is nothing stopping you from going over and join the fight against ISIS"
>>"Why don't you go over and fight against ISIS?"
>>"why don't you join Roger and Parker and go fight ISIS?"
>>"Faux New? Join Kreuger, Parker and Roger as they deploy to fight ISIS."
That's your broken record response to veterans here.

You are not here to discuss anything, you are here to attack veterans who have earned the right to say how they feel about the worst administration since Carter.

Question for you, what was Obama's response to why he broke protocol and negotiated with the Taliban to trade 5 terrorists for 1 deserter? Obama said the "Taliban aren't terrorists."

Israel's response to Palestinian terrorist attacks was to wipe out tunnels and homes of terrorists. Obama's anti-Semitic response was to send millions in aid to the Palestinians to rebuild their terrorist hangouts and tunnels. He's done more to support terrorism than he's done to wipe it out. It is clear where his sympathies lie. (and yours)

I believe the reason we have not declared the Taliban terrorists is because we supported the
forerunner of the Taliban in their fight against Communist Russia who had occupied Afghanistan. So if we called the Taliban terrorist we would in essence be saying we had supported a terrorist organization. One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter (i.e., The IRA).

Submitted by Bronxzite (not verified) : Feb 7, 2015 8:08am

Refrain from using "we" when making comments like the above. Taliban, Al-Qaeda, ISIS, are terrorist organizations. The leader of the Taliban still has a 10 million dollar reward on his head. (Obama must have forgotten to remove it) His purpose in denying the Taliban terrorist status was to cover his blunder in appeasing them. Both sides recognized that.
Your purpose here is to bash anyone with a harsh word for the *O*. Read your comments again. You launch a personal attack on veterans who say Obama is incompetent. (*5* comments in a row telling veterans to "go over and fight ISIS") And FYI, calling people racist because they don't like an incompetent president is just ignorant. There are plenty of troll sites where you can bash to your heart's content. Doing it on a site for and about veterans is a mistake.
American Legion should limit these comments to actual paying members.

Sgt Read some of the entries referring to our President as a Muslim. The Honorable John McCain when campaigning for the Presidency took an audience member to task when they accused President Obama of being a Muslim, but the myth prevails -- particularly amongst racist.
While I salute you for your service, I wonder why so many of my fellow veterans have no problems sending our troops over and over again to fight wars in which those most at risk should take the lead. Some of our troops have had 6 or 7 deployments. I am an advocate of bringing back the draft, because the public attitude seems to be that as long as some other poor SOB and not my children are going to war its fine. I believe in a draft for two reasons: (1) Everybody should service their country, and for many it provides a transit from childhood to manhood. (2) If we had a draft we would probably get in few wars. If you want to be concerned about something, be concerned about the thug Putin who has nukes at his disposal.

I believe our air strikes were responsible for helping the Kurds run the ISIS out of Kobani.
Most American people are sick and tied of endless war. Let those who are most in danger
lead the fight on the ground (i.e., The Arabs) If we had not take out Saddam Hussein, the counterbalance to our enemy Iran, in an unnecessary war at the cost of thousands of our best and trillions of dollars there probably would not be an ISIS. Bad man that he was, he kept things under control.

For once I agree with you…Some breeds of people have to be dealt with with death and deletion from the gene pool. We must kill them, not save them in the Cuba Club Med. Rehabilitation of those who are militant by nature is to not understand the different breeds of humans. Some of us are just not suited for peaceful existence, like the Russian president. Many Americans have voted for our President and Congress persons who just do not get it-and will never get it. Do you trust and support anyone who has lied to you--apparently you do.

Hopefully it will wake up the American People! Our current leadership in DC is totally out of touch with reality. Submitted by Bronxite (not verified) : Feb 5, 2015 5:56pm

Here is a sum up of our MEDIA.
subject: Fwd: From General Giaps Memoirs... General Vo Nguyen Giap. General Giap was a brilliant, highly respected leader of the North Vietnam military. The following quote is from his memoirs currently found in the Vietnam war memorial in Hanoi: "What we still don't understand is why you Americans stopped the bombing of Hanoi. You had us on the ropes. If you had pressed us a little harder, just for another day or two, we were ready to surrender! It was the same at the battles of TET. You defeated us! We knew it, and we thought you knew it. But we were elated to notice your media was definitely helping us. They were causing more disruption in America than we could in the battlefields. We were ready to surrender. You had won!" General Giap has published his memoirs and confirmed what most Americans knew. The Vietnam war was not lost in Vietnam -- it was lost at home. The exact same slippery slope, sponsored by the US media, is currently well underway. It exposes the enormous power of a Biased Media to cut out the heart and will of the American public. A truism worthy of note: .... Do not fear the enemy, for they can take only your life. Fear the media far more, for they will destroy your honour.

Doug, you are only partially correct.
Muslim law, while it can be harsh, does not condone this form of punishment. World-wide, Muslims are expressing outrage over this act. The principle goals of ISIS are (1) the intimidation of it's adversaries and (2) to "attract more radical recruits."
I would hope this is a wake-up call for US leadership - not just from the White House but also from the do nothing Congress.
I would also hope the outrage were hearing from the more "moderate" Muslim countries persists and leads to meaningful action on their part.
Don't bet on it though.

I don't thing we need to deploy any U.S. soldiers to the Middle East -- we're already spread too thin in foreign entanglements. If Obama was any kind of leader (and he's not ... not an American one, anyway) instead of trashing the only friend we have there, Israel, and aiding and abeting every radical muslim cause, he would help to clear the way for Israel to do their thing.

The air strikes are obviously ineffective. They're not just beheading journalists, by the way -- they're also beheading women and children, or enslaving them ... and if the Muslim-in-Chief is considering sending troops there, he should send himself -- preferably on the front line. If he were beheaded, it would be no loss -- on many levels ...

We are brainwahed to believe that the sickening act of burning a human being alive, and the torture and beheading of British, American and other nationals will soon be forgotten and nothing will come of it to destroy ASIS. This is pure fear and pessimism and cowardice on the part of any American. America does not seek wars, territory, except the land needed to bury our dead who have defended other countries from conquest by evil dictators seeking world conquest. America hates war. In WWII the U.S. had a population of 131,028,000. We had 407,300 military deaths. We had a draft so bakers, cooks, laundry worker, doctor, lawyers, scientists, used car salesmen, labor workers, nurses, students, all walks of life were involved in defeating the two greatest military, armies, navies in the world, Germany and Japan.
We have forgotten we are Americans who have lived to overcome all kinds of obstacles and enemies of the republic. But we want to believe, and sympathize with a non-leader who has no knowledge of American History and its patience and determination not to fight unless it has reached its limit of patience and decides to fight back. From the landing at Plymouth Rock in the 1600's to the Declaration of Independence we were patient. Then, outlclassed in military power, our need for freedom liberated us and gave us our Constitution. This is not about childish talk of who will join the fight, or join ASIS. This is a fight for our United States of America. All I can say to those who think we face professional torture experts only, think again. These people have nothing in common with our way of life. Their aim is to conquer us so their religion and ideology is forced on each one of us. What are they going to do when they come for you!!! Wake up!! fear mongers and pessimists. Act as those people from all walks of life who defeated the most powerful military countries in WWII.
I am going to be 90 years old in March, but that does not stop me from saying with Patrick Henry. Give me Liberty, or give me Death.!!!

I am sick of hearing "Islam is a religion of PEACE & Moderate Muslims. Please study their Book so you can understand and speak intelligently.

A RELIGION OF PEACE ?? REALLY !!

So you have the facts, and not what politicians and the media preach.

When Muslims talk of Islam being a “religion of peace”, it is often understood that this peace will occur only when Islam rules the world with Islamic law applied universally. As Syrian born Harvard professor Bassam Tibi has written, "...the quest of converting the entire world to Islam is an immutable fixture of the Muslim worldview. Only if this task is accomplished, if the world has become a 'Dar al-Islam [house of Islam],' will it also be a 'Dar al-Salam,' or a house of peace."

QURAN VERSES
47:4. When you encounter those who disbelieve, strike at their necks. Then, when you have routed them, bind them firmly. Then, either release them by grace, or by ransom, until war lays down its burdens. Had God willed, He could have defeated them Himself, but He thus tests some of you by means of others. As for those who are killed in the way of God, He will not let their deeds go to waste.

5:33. The punishment for those who fight God and His Messenger, and strive to spread corruption on earth, is that they be killed, or crucified, or have their hands and feet cut off on opposite sides, or be banished from the land. That is to disgrace them in this life; and in the Hereafter they will have a terrible punishment.

5:38. As for the thief, whether male or female, cut their hands as a penalty for what they have reaped-a deterrent from God. God is Mighty and Wise.

5:51. O you who believe! Do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies; some of them are allies of one another. Whoever of you allies himself with them is one of them. God does not guide the wrongdoing people.

5:59. Say, "O People of the Scripture! Do you resent us only because we believe in God, and in what was revealed to us, and in what was revealed previously; and most of you are sinners?"

5:60. Say, "Shall I inform you of worse than that for retribution from God? He whom God has cursed, and with whom He became angry; and He turned some of them into apes, and swine, and idol worshipers. These are in a worse position, and further away from the right way.

5:64. The Jews say, "God's hand is tied." It is their hands that are tied, and they are cursed for what they say. In fact, His hands are outstretched; He gives as He wills. Certainly, what was revealed to you from your Lord will increase many of them in defiance and blasphemy. And We placed between them enmity and hatred, until the Day of Resurrection. Whenever they kindle the fire of war, God extinguishes it. And they strive to spread corruption on earth. God does not love the corrupter.

5:72. They disbelieve those who say, "God is the Messiah the son of Mary." But the Messiah himself said, "O Children of Israel, worship God, my Lord and your Lord. Whoever associates others with God, God has forbidden him Paradise, and his dwelling is the Fire. The wrongdoers have no saviors."

5:73. They disbelieve those who say, "God is the third of three." But there is no deity except the One God. If they do not refrain from what they say, a painful torment will befall those among them who disbelieve.

5:75. The Messiah son of Mary was ONLY a messenger, before whom other Messengers had passed away, and his mother was a woman of truth. They both used to eat food. Note how we make clear the revelations to them; then note how deluded they are.

5:78. Cursed were those who disbelieved from among the Children of Israel by the tongue of David and Jesus son of Mary. That is because they rebelled and used to transgress.

5:82. You will find that the people most hostile towards the believers are the Jews and the polytheists. And you will find that the nearest in affection towards the believers are those who say, "We are Christians." That is because among them are priests and monks, and they are not arrogant.

8:12. Your Lord inspired the angels: "I am with you, so support those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. So strike above the necks, and strike off every fingertip of theirs.

9:29 Fight those who do not believe in God, nor in the Last Day, nor forbid what God and His Messenger have forbidden, nor abide by the religion of truth-from among those who received the Scripture-until they pay the due tax, willingly or unwillingly.

So, Allaah the exalted sent down the Qur’anic verse “And all married women (are forbidden) unto you save those (captives) whom your right hand posses.” This is to say they are lawful for them when they complete their waiting period.

Turkey only wants a commitment from president Obama that if he helps, the plans need to include the destruction of the murderous regime of Assad in Syria who is heavily backed by Iran and Russia. Iran who this white house thinks is negotiating in good faith, has just overran Yemen, who according to Obama, was our ally and things were going well.

Maybe folks in other countries will have had enough of ISIS, but as long as Obama is president, I don't think you will get much other than a lot of talk with little or no action. This grisly execution is just one more among many atrocities perpetrated by people who claim Islam as their faith. The atrocities will continue until the perps are dead. No sense putting them in prison as Obama will "set them free." According to Obama, I have no business as a Christian being critical of Muslims who commit terrorist acts because a long time ago Christians committed grisly acts. I'm white and if you listen carefully to Obama and Holder, that makes me a racist. I am also a Vietnam Vet and I suppose in the eyes of progressive left-wing ideologues (Obama, etc), that makes me a war criminal (unindicted, of course).

Fact: Obama was enrolled in a Catholic school and his religion was listed as *Islam*. He was a devoted 20+year follower of Rev Wright, an anti-American, pro-Muslim preacher, who has supported the Black Muslim recruitment in American prisons. His Muslim references from multi-million dollar Muslim donors got him into Harvard Law without ever having been on the dean's list or honor roll at Columbia, and it is telling that he has refused to release any of his grades. He befriended and associated with known American terrorists. (Ayers and Dorn were two of them)
He refused for years to release his birth certificate. (I had to provide mine when I enlisted)
His anti-Israel stance and financing of Palestinian rebuilding of terrorist hiding places with taxpayer money is disgusting.
The only evidence that he is not a Muslim is because he says so. It must be nice to be able to believe everything that has been force fed to you. Not believing what he says does not make one a racist, which is a common dismissive liberal response to plain facts. Unfortunately, much of America is too lazy to research the truth. He says the economy is good, unemployment is down, and he loves Israel and veterans and the masses bow and scrape to their idol.
His religion and his race are not issues. His lies, denials, policies, and blatant contempt for America are issues.

Excellent Sgt. After looking over all of the comments, especially Bronxite, it is clear that half of us humans have not been born with the brain connections that allow assimilating of facts for a logical conclusion. I have learned that one can not argue with any creature that was not born to have cognitive abilities. Sad, but true, many people just will never "get it", because their brain connections are defective---it is not their fault--their DNA is different. The real sad thing is these people are breeding like mosquitos. It is great to know that there are a few thinking people still on the planet.

Sgt. Apparently somebody else is writing this crap for you. Count how many times you said Black and Muslim in your last rant. Then tell me it is not about race and religion. What did I say which was anti veteran of anti American. Disagreeing with a racist is not anti-veteran or anti-American.

You clearly don't have an understanding of the English language. And you aren't adding anything intelligent to the topic. The topic is ISIS and you couldn't come up with anything except to tell 5 people in a row to "go over and fight them". You aren't debating, you are being an ignoramus.
The only bigotry on here is from you. NOBODY here has said they don't like Obama because of his race. You, however, have repeatedly accused many of the posters of saying that. Falsely accusing people of racism is OK?
This is not a forum to bash veterans. If you don't have anything good to say to or about veterans or in support of them, or anything about the title topic, then have the good grace to exit. I'm done.

SGT If the topic was ISIS I would be glad to join in, but the topic is attack President PesidenObama.
Here are some quotes from above:

"Review Obama's background and early teaching.."
"Obama's anti-Semitic"
"This was done to comply with Sharia and Muslim law."
"This man is a Muslim of the worst kind."
"He grew up Muslim:
"Obama's not an American.."
"Obama's inability to grow balls.
"If we had a President who loved America.."
"Obama will set them (i.e., prisoners) free."
"Muslim donations got him into law school."

All true.
Bronxite quotes:
>there is nothing stopping you from going over and join the fight against ISIS.
>Are you over there fighting ISIS yourself or just sitting in your arm chair bitching?>Get well soon. Racism is a disease.
>Why don't you go over and fight against ISIS?
>why don't you join Roger and Parker and go fight ISIS?
>Where do you get your info, Faux New? Join Kreuger, Parker and Roger as they >deploy to fight ISIS.
>Your ignorance amazes me.
>Your words make you a racist.
>Unlike yourself, I watch something other than Faux News
>Apparently somebody else is writing this crap for you.
>my Vietnamese relatives (perhaps this says it all)

Obama is the worst president in decades and is destroying what is strong and good in this country. If you want to defend him, this is not the forum to do so. Troll time is over.

If the people in Congress who control the "Purse Strings", would allow our military leaders to do "Their" jobs with advanced equiptment and personnel, ISIS' days could be numbered. As long as there is political bickering, our fighting men and women suffer dearly! If Jordan and other Arab states get their acts together to fight extremists with U.S. and coalition forces then ISIS will find the going pretty tough! If our P.O.T.U.S. won't act to eliminate Islamic terrorists, charge him with "Dereliction of Duty" as President, our Congress has those powers!

I just have to wonder what our useless president is going to do now. Or rather NOT do. ISIS must be utterly and completely DESTROYED by whatever means necessary. It is a crying shame that it takes so many terrible deaths of innocent people before it sinks in that this terrorist state is never going away until they are exterminated like the filthy rats they are.
