Based on the price and what this "new" aircraft is capable of doing it is a BIG waste of money.

Too expensive. To hard to maintain . Flight hours over maintain hours.
Better more UAV's and more less expensive planes.
Unless you can actually manage the cost over runs and hold the manufacturer accountable

Boots on the ground win wars. The A-10 Warthog is the best weapon to support troops on the ground and it is being scrapped. We have had air superiority since Vietnam yet look at the results.

Scrap and start the A-10 Line back up. Get some new airframes in the sky. The F35 is a cool concept but too many whiz bang ideas in one platform. The A-10 is not a plane. It's a gun with an airframe around it. A very simple concept.

Software complexity is the major technology problem. And that problem isn't going away regarding any weapons system in this day and age.

Hold on addtl purchase while testing. Plane is available to anyone who can pay for it, increasing enemy familiarity with a US high-tech weapon, which will lead to rapid obsolescence. Produce more F-22, a proven successor to the F-16,17,18 series and protect its electric warfare capabilities along with general a/c configuration from prying eyes.

Scrap the entire program!!! Veterans could use that money allot better!! These defense contractors have been milking the tax payer long enough!!! The cost overruns on this program, plus all the ones we are not told about is CRIMINAL! They have no BID contracts, with claus's that open the faucet to cost overruns. And by the time it gets to Military it's already obsolete!!!
